A Message From Calvary's RectorDear Friends and Siblings in Christ,
God’s blessings are abundant here at Calvary, thanks to the generosity and dedication of our parishioners. For over a century, the little castle on the corner of Ninth Street and Locust has been a source of God’s love, and we continue this legacy by sharing it freely. Worship Our work in the world flows from our worship, whether it’s a Sunday service at 8 am or 10:30 am, the healing service on Wednesday evenings, or one of the special services offered around our community through Campus Ministry, at the Bluffs and now Lenoir. Two choir ensembles share their gifts at Sunday services and through Evensongs and other special concerts throughout the year. Their offerings are prayerful and beautiful, and lift our hearts to God. Our wonderful tech ministers ensure that those who cannot be with us in person are able to connect with us through our livestream. Community Outreach We are an active part of the Columbia community & the Diocese of Missouri. We offer our piece of the PIE at Grant Elementary. We share food and hospitality freely by hosting Saturday Café during the summer months. It is a monthly practice at Calvary to support Loaves and Fishes, the Food Bank, and the Journey Church in Fulton. That’s in addition to offering community concerts and recitals, walking in the CROP Walk, serving at Room at the Inn, and being present at Pride Fest. Fellowship & Discipleship We have an active youth group and campus ministry in partnership with St. Andrew’s Lutheran Church. Coffee Hour, Children’s Chapel, Confirmation Class, Tuesday morning and Thursday evening Bible Studies, and the Bazaar - our annual all parish fundraiser - all offer opportunities to grow in faith and love. The future is bright at Calvary, thanks to you. Sharing God’s Blessings We are so glad that you are part of this church family. I invite you to prayerfully consider how God is calling you to share the blessings that you’ve received, through offering your time, talents, and treasure, so that we can continue to share Calvary’s blessings with our community. In Christ’s Love, Rev. Ann |
