"Lenten Wildflower Walks”
Join us on weekly walks during Lent to be present together in our surroundings and notice what is happening under the surface in spring woodlands. Vernal wildflowers are often small and inconspicuous, and a beautiful way to recognize the earliest signs of spring in Missouri.
Details: Meet at 3:30 pm Sundays in Lent (4/10) at the Capen Park parking lot off of Rock Quarry Road. Walks will last about an hour, and take place on a trail surface with roots, rocks, and muddy spots. Hiking level of ‘easy’ with lots of stopping to notice what is on the ground. Please wear comfortable hiking footwear and clothing - spring in Missouri can be hot, cold, wet and windy, sometimes all in the same hour! There is a porta-potty at the parking lot, but no drinking water in the park. No need to RSVP, but please email Sarah Davis with questions. (her email is in the directory on the Members page)
